COMPOSITION
ZADIN 2mg Tablets
Each film coated tablet contains ;
Tizanidine [as HCL] USP......2mg
ZADIN 4mg Tablets
Each film coated tablet contains
Tizanidine [as HCL] USP.....4mg
INDICATIONS
Muscle spasticity [due to its short duration of action reserve for when relief is most important ].
ADULT DOES
Initially ;
Usually 4mg may increase by 2-4mg as needed every 6-8 hrs to a max of 3 doses in 24 hrs; max 12 mg / does and 36 mg / day. Renal impairment [CrCl 25mL/min]; reduce dose may affect absorption.
CHILDREN’S DOSING
Not recommended
CONTRINDICATIONS
Concomitant fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacim.
WARNING/PRECAUTIONS
Hepatic dysfunction. Monitor ophthalmic and liver function[aminopransferases at baseline, 1, 3,6 months, then periodically] and for orthostatic hypotension. Renal dysfunction. Cardiovascular disease. Avoid abrupt cessation. Elderly. Labour and delivery. Pregnancy [Cat.C]. Nursing mothers.
INTERACTIONS
Hypotension possible with other antihypertensive. Avoid concomitant use with other CYP 1 A 2 inhibitors[ eg, amiodarone, maxiletine, propafenone, verapamil, cimetivine, famotidine, other fluoroquinolones, oral contraceptives, acyhlovir, ticlopidine, zileuton]; if clinically necessary, use caution. May potentiate CNS depression with alcohol, daclofen, benzodiazepines, other CNS depressants.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Dry mouth, somnolence, asthenia, dizziness, UTl, constipation, liver injury or elevated liver enzymes, vomiting, speech disorder, blurred vision, dyskimesia, nervousness, pharyngitis, hypotension, vradycardia, hallucinations/psychosis.
